Jim Page is:

A Veteran

I served our Nation in the military for six years, attaining the rank of Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.

I am proud to have had the opportunity to serve my country in the USMC, and would be honored to serve as your voice in Michigan’s House of Representatives.

An Educator

I retired from the Sault Area Public Schools in 2010, where I spent most of my 28-year teaching career as a math and computer instructor at the middle school level.  I served two terms as president of the Sault Education Association, where I worked with management and teachers to create the best possible learning environment for our district’s children. I was named the Sault Ste. Marie Area Public Schools’ Employee of the Year in 2006.

My time as an educator and Association leader provided me a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing our education system. I believe we must protect and improve public education from early childhood through college, including vocational education.

A Sportsman & Environmentalist

I am an avid hunter and fisherman; I hold membership in the Michigan United Conservation Club, Ducks Unlimited, and Trout Unlimited.

Because of my love of the outdoors, I am also an environmentalist. I understand the importance of protecting our natural resources and am passionate about safeguarding our environment.

A Worker

Following my retirement from teaching, I spent four years working in retail at local KMart and Meijer stores, during which time I was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, UFCW Local 951.

I valued my time with the Union, and believe strongly in the need to strengthen the economy in Northern Michigan and will work tirelessly to protect Michigan workers, seniors, and families.

An Advocate

I believe there is currently a lack of positive leadership in Lansing, filled with divisive rhetoric and acrimonious attitudes.

You deserve a leader who will operate with civility, govern with humility, and who will advocate for Michigan’s 107th District. You deserve a leader who puts people first.

If elected, I won’t simply serve in Michigan’s House of Representatives – I’ll be serving you, and advocating on behalf of every resident in our District.
